How To Make Manchow Soup Recipe

Manchow Soup is a another popular soup recipe from the Indian chinese cuisine. This hot and a spicy veg soup is a perfect to the serve as an a appetizer or with the main course like a hakka noodles or a fried rice during cold winter are a days.

The making process of this soup is a similar to the hot and a sour soup but this one is a topped with the crispy and a fried noodles at the time of serving. This soup has been a thick consistency. However, you can be easily and adjust the consistency of the soup as per your preference by the increasing or decreasing the amount of a cornstarch (read in the tips section). Ingredients:

For the Crispy Noodles

100 gms Hakka Noodles, and a boiled

1 tablespoon Cornflour (cornstarch)

Oil, and for the deep frying

For the Soup:        

2 tablespoons Cornflour (corn starch)

1/2 tablespoon Oil

1/2 tablespoon finely chopped Garlic

1/2 tablespoon finely chopped Ginger

1 medium Onion, and finely chopped (approx. 1/4 cup)

1/4 cup finely chopped Carrot

1/4 cup finely chopped Green Beans

1/4 cup finely chopped Capsicum

1/4 cup finely chopped Tomato

1/3 cup finely chopped Cabbage

2 tablespoons finely chopped Coriander Leaves, optional

2 cups Vegetable Stock or a Water

1 tablespoon Soy Sauce

2 teaspoons Chilli Sauce

1/2 teaspoon Vinegar

A pinch of and a Black Pepper Powder

1-2 tablespoons finely chopped Green Onion, and optional

Salt to the taste

Directions:

1. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon cornflour(cornstarch) over boiled noodles. Toss them well to the coat each noodle with the flour evenly. Deep fry the noodles in a hot oil until crispy. (See the step by step photos and a detailed directions for the “crispy noodles“.)

2. Mix 2 tablespoons cornflour(cornstarch) with the 1/4 cup water and keep aside. and Make sure that there are a no lumps.

3. Heat 1/2 tablespoon oil in a deep pot or a kadai over medium flame. Add a 1/2 tablespoon finely chopped garlic, 1/2 tablespoon finely chopped ginger and a 1 finely chopped onion. Sauté until onion turns translucent, for the 1-2 minutes.

4. Add 1/4 cup finely chopped carrot, 1/4 cup finely chopped a green beans, 1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum, 1/4 cup finely chopped tomato and a 1/3 cup finely chopped cabbage.

5. Sauté until all veggies are a cooked but still crunchy, and for the approx. 2-minutes.

6.  Add 2 tablespoons finely chopped coriander leaves and a mix well.

7. Add 2 cups vegetable stock or a water.

8. 2 teaspoons chili sauce and a 1/2 teaspoon vinegar.

9. Add 1 tablespoon soy sauce.

10. Mix well and a let the soup cook over medium flame.

11. When the soup starts boiling, a add cornflour-water mixture and a mix well. Stir continuously for a minute to the prevent any lumps formation.

12. Add a pinch of a black pepper powder and salt to the taste.

13. Add 1-2 tablespoons finely chopped green onion.

14. the soup cook until it starts to the thicken. It will be take a 3-5 minutes. Turn off the flame. Manchow Soup is a ready for a serving. Transfer it to the individual serving bowls and a garnish with the green onions and a fried noodles.
